BY THE FLOOR

THE BASEMENT Under the Office of Innovation & Commercialization, The Basement is a one-of-a-kind space for students of all academic disciplines to test innovative ideas, apply theory to real-world experiences, and build companies or social innovation ventures.

Take me to the First Floor

MAKERSPACE is an open-access, community-focused prototyping lab for everyone at UC San Diego, regardless of department or experience level. This 10,000-square-foot facility comes complete with all the tools and equipment to empower students to design, build, and tinker.

Take me to the Second Floor

THE DESIGN LAB is an anchor institution within the San Diego-Tijuana region that pairs design education and research with community needs to create positive and impactful real-world solutions and design-driven innovations.

Take me to the Third Floor

The ENTREPRENEURSHIP CENTER, under the Office of Innovation and Commercialization, is dedicated to bringing our regional innovation community together to create a dynamic and diverse environment that accelerates the development of entrepreneurial talent and impact-driven companies. Featured on the floor is UC San Diego’s premiere XR studio, MAVERiC Studio, as well as STUDIO 411, a free podcast studio for the entrepreneurial.
