See Our Room Rates

The following only applies to Rooms 208, 306, 307, 406, and 407. Room rates do NOT apply to the Entrepreneurship Center and STUDIO 411. 

While there is not an inherent reservation charge to UC San Diego Faculty, Students, or Staff, there are several instances where internal rates will be applied in specifically reserving Rooms 208, 306, 307, 406, and 407. Please review the following instances, where you, your group, or your department would be responsible for charges associated with reserving those spaces at the Design and Innovation Building. 

Faculty/Staff Event/Meeting with Admission Charge

Room Reservation Details:
  • Reservation made by department faculty or staff person
  • Reservations can be made one academic quarter in advance, with the exception of 406.
  • Reservations for Meeting Room 406 can be made 2 weeks in advance*.
  • All funding comes from departmental account via recharge
  • All planning for the event is done by faculty/staff of department
  • At least 50% of the attendees for the meeting/event must be UCSD Faculty, Staff or Students
  • If there is an admission charge to enter or participate in event fees listed below apply. If there is not an admission charge, there are no fees for reservation.
  • At the time of reservation, event lead/contact from the reserving department/unit must be identified and be in attendance the entire event
Recharge Rates:
  • Room 208 - Event Space:
    • $125/half day (4 hrs)
    • $225/full day (8 hrs)
  • Rooms 306, 307, 406, 407 - Meeting Rooms:
    • $25/hour
Additional Fees/Options:

  • Building Overtime Fee $50/hour
  • Holiday/Weekend Fee $100

Student Event/Meeting with Admission Charge

Room Reservation Details:
  • Reservation made by Principal Member of registered student organization
  • Reservations can be made 1-3 months in advance, with the exception of 406.
  • Reservations for Meeting Room 406 can be made 2 weeks in advance*.
  • All funding comes from student organization/department accounts via recharge
  • All planning for the event is done by student members of reserving student organization
  • Triton Activity Planner (TAP) must be completed per TAP guidelines
  • At least 50% of the attendees for the meeting/event must be UCSD Faculty, Staff or Students
  • If there is an admission charge to enter or participate in event fees listed below apply. If there is not an admission charge, there are no fees for reservation.
  • At the time of reservation, event lead/contact from the student organization must be identified and be in attendance the entire event
  • If reservation is being made for a group study session in a 3rd or 4th floor meeting room, the following rules apply:
  • Are permitted for a maximum of two hours
  • Are permitted once per day, per user, regardless of length
  • May be made up to two weeks in advance
  • Reservations limited to currently-enrolled, regular UC San Diego students, faculty, & staff with UC San Diego email address.

  • Rooms 306, 307, 406, 407 - Meeting Rooms:
    • $25/hour

Department Hosted Non-Affiliate Event/Meeting (attendance is less than 50% UCSD affiliates):

Room Reservation Details:
  • Reservation made by department faculty or staff person
  • Reservations can be made one academic quarter in advance, with the exception of 406.
  • Reservations for Meeting Room 406 can be made 2 weeks in advance*.
  • All funding comes from departmental account via recharge
  • All planning for the event is done by faculty/staff of department and non-affiliate member
  • Insurance documents for non-affiliate required
  • At the time of reservation, event lead/contact must be identified and be in attendance the entire event. Department personnel must be present or request event staff, see rates below.

Recharge Rates:
  • Room 208 - Event Space:
    • $125/half day (4 hrs)
    • $225/full day (8 hrs)
  • Rooms 306, 307, 406, 407 - Meeting Rooms:
    • $25/hour

Non-Affiliate Event/Meeting:

Room Reservation Details:
  • Reservations for fall, winter and spring quarter can be made 6 weeks in advance, with the exception of 406.
  • Reservations for summer quarter and breaks can be made 6 months in advance, with the exception of 406.
  • Reservations for Meeting Room 406 can be made 2 weeks in advance*.
  • Full payment for all expected charges due two weeks before event
  • Insurance documentation required
Recharge Rates:
  • Room 208 - Event Space:
    • $250/half day (4 hrs) + Event Staff Member
    • $450/full day (8 hrs) + Event Staff Member
  • Rooms 306, 307, 406, 407 - Meeting Rooms:
    • $50/hour
